Chief Peter F. Henrikson was appointed to the position of Fire Chief in November of 2010.  He is a long time veteran of the East Greenwich Fire District, starting as a Junior Firefighter in 1981.  Chief Henrikson was hired as a full time career firefighter in August of 1987, was promoted to Lieutenant in June of 2003, and then Deputy Chief in June of 2007.  He oversees the overall operations of the Fire District and his primary responsibility is training.  Chief Henrikson readily states that "The Professional Firefighter of today must be highly trained in order to competently deal with multi-faceted work that is required whether it be the newest firefighter or the most senior officers.  The men and women of the Fire District have been given a public trust, now more than ever the Fire District must continue to earn the confidence of the entire community it protects".
